Customers who have with-profits can find out more about how their investment works

With-profits investments are no longer available to new customers and many have valuable guarantees. 

You will lose any investment guarantee that you have if you cash in your with-profits investment early, including transfer, make an investment switch or surrender of your plan.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the thirty-second ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING of Qualifying Policyholders of Scottish Equitable Policyholders Trust Limited will be held at Aegon, Lochside Crescent, Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh EH12 9SE on 27 June 2025 at 1.15pm for the following purposes:

Ordinary Resolutions

  1. To consider the Report on the activities of the Company for the year ended 31 December 2024.
  2. To approve the aggregate ordinary remuneration to be made available to the Directors of the Company.
  3. To appoint Carl Dowthwaite as a Director of the Company
  4. To reappoint Mr Brian Duffin (retiring by rotation as a Director of the Company). 

Any Qualifying Policyholder who is entitled to attend and vote is entitled to appoint another person (who need not be a Qualifying Policyholder) as their proxy to attend and vote instead of them.  A proxy is entitled to vote but is not entitled to speak except to demand or join in demanding a poll.  Proxy forms, which can be obtained from the Secretary, must be deposited at Aegon, Lochside Crescent, Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh EH12 9SE before 9 am on 26 June 2025.

Any Qualifying Policyholder whose policy, as at the commencement of the Meeting, is in force, and has been at least one year in force, is entitled to attend and vote at the Meeting.

"Qualifying Policyholders" for the purposes of this Notice has the meaning set out in the Trust Deed executed by the Company on 31 December 1993 and extends to:

(a) any person who was a member of Scottish Equitable Life Assurance Society and whose policy was transferred to Scottish Equitable plc; and

(b) any person who has a with profits policy with Scottish Equitable plc where the policy has been linked to the With Profits Sub-Fund for a continuous period of at least one year as at the commencement of the Meeting.
