Your customer dashboard

  • Track your portfolio, purchase products, top up and switch funds online.
  • Access to Aegon General Investment Account (GIA), where any unit trusts/open ended investment company funds (OEICS) you’re invested in will be held. This also has a cash facility that replaces your IPS Cash account.

Our new customer dashboard is designed to help you manage your investments.

00:07

The old way of doing things was fine, but we’re always looking to make things better for you.

00:13

Using new technology, we can bring you our services all in one easy to use place. It can quickly give you a greater understanding of your finances, let you see how your investments are performing, as well as help you and your intermediary, if you have one, make decisions about what to do next. And that will save you the one thing we’re all short of… time.

00:35

But don’t think we’re leaving you to go it alone - the dashboard is full of helpful information that will support you throughout your investment process. And if you need to, you should also get some financial advice or guidance.

00:48

Our key focus throughout the development of this service was to make it easy to use. We’ve even made it fully flexible, meaning you can use it on whatever device - desktop, tablet or mobile - any time you want to.

Aegon GIA

An Aegon GIA is a medium to long-term (at least five years, ideally longer) investment that could be a good option if you’ve used up your ISA allowance and don’t want to lock your money away in a pension. You have access to a range of investment opportunities and you can invest a regular monthly amount, a lump sum – or both.

  • Our Aegon GIA gives you access to unit trust and OEIC funds. These are forms of collective investments.
  • Collective investments allow you to put money together with other investors’ money in large-scale funds.

The value of an investment, and any income you take from it can fall as well as rise, isn't guaranteed and you could get back less than you invest.

The value of any tax relief will depend on individual circumstances.

Investments held in your GIA might be subject to income, capital gains and inheritance tax. If you sell or switch your investments this may give rise to a capital gains tax liability. We will deduct tax at basic rate from any interest paid on cash held in the cash facility of your GIA. We'll pay this to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) - you might have an additional tax liability depending on your marginal rate of tax.

Although the investment has no fixed term, you should be prepared to hold the investment for at least five years, ideally longer.

Aegon ISA

The Aegon ISA is a stocks and shares ISA and is a tax-efficient way to save for the medium to long term (at least five years, ideally longer). You have access to a range of investments and can invest a regular monthly amount, a lump sum – or both.

  • Allows you to put your money in unit trusts and OEICs, which in turn invest in different types of assets like shares, commercial property and fixed interest securities.
  • ISAs are tax efficient. You have no personal liability to income tax or capital gains tax on any money you take from an ISA.
  • There's a limit to how much can be paid into ISAs each year. The limit for ISAs for the current tax year is £20,000.

The value of a stocks and shares ISA can fall as well as rise, isn't guaranteed and you may get back less than you invest. The value of any tax benefits will depend on individual circumstances. The favourable tax treatment of ISAs may not be maintained in the future.

Although the investment has no fixed term, you should be prepared to hold the investment for at least five years, ideally longer.

This information is based on our understanding of current taxation law and HMRC practice, which may change.

Important information

Each unit trust and OEIC fund has its own fund specific risks detailed in its Key Investor Information Document (KIID). Before you invest, it's important you read the KIID for the fund(s) you choose.

What to consider

We’ve listed some considerations that may help you decide if investing in the Aegon GIA or Aegon ISA is right for you.

Consider if:

  • You’re prepared to put your capital at risk
  • You’re prepared to invest for the medium to long term – at least five years, ideally longer
  • You want to spread the risk by investing in a diversified portfolio of investments
  • You want access to a researched panel of funds
  • You’d like the ability to view existing investments in one place
  • You want the freedom to switch your funds at any time
