Aegon Group has announced the sale of Aegon UK to Standard Life plc

This news follows the announcement in December 2025 that Aegon Group will focus on its ambition to become a leading life insurance and retirement group in the United States. This led to Aegon Group starting a strategic review of Aegon UK and this announcement marks the conclusion of that review.

What does this mean for Aegon UK customers?

There will be no immediate change - it is business as usual and you do not need to do anything. You will continue to be an Aegon UK customer, able to speak to us and transact with us in exactly the same ways as before.

And we will continue to focus on our strategy, the investment in our business and delivering for you, our customers.

What happens next?

It is very early stages and there are a lot of details still to work through, including regulatory and legal approvals for the sale. This will take some time.

In the meantime, you will continue to be an Aegon UK customer, with an Aegon policy. This has not changed.
