The price you'll get will vary depending on the Aegon product and the type of investment you hold, as there are different timescales for selling units in your old fund or investment and reinvesting in your new choice. This applies across all Aegon products across pension, life, Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC) and Aegon One Retirement (AOR).
For our Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC) and Aegon One Retirement (AOR) investors
This timescale can vary depending on the fund choice and method of instruction, but ordinarily takes between three and five working days for selling units and the same again for the purchase of new units. Once we have received and acknowledged the instruction to sell your fund or investment, it will typically be processed within the next two Aegon dealing points.
What are our dealing points?
Most funds trade once a day at a time known as the dealing point. This is the point up until which the investment institution of the fund will accept instructions to trade. Dealing points occur at various times during the business day depending on the investment and are subject to the acceptance of the instructions by the relevant investment institution.
On ARC and AOR, we'll make a dealing instruction to the relevant investment institution approximately one hour before the dealing point of the selected fund.
To see specific dealing points applicable to each fund manager on ARC and AOR, please view the column on the right-hand side labelled 'Dealing point' at the links below.

For our Insured pension and life investors
When we receive your investment instruction, we'll allocate units to your plan at the price determined at the next valuation point. This is currently 12 noon on days that the London Stock Exchange is open. For example:
- If an investment institution's dealing point is 12 noon, switch instructions received in head office before 12 noon will (in normal circumstances) receive the price calculated at 12 noon on the next working day.
- If an investment institution's dealing point is 12 noon, any switch instructions received in head office after 12 noon will (in normal circumstances) receive the price calculated at 12 noon on the second working day, i.e. two working days after receipt.
Weekends and bank holidays are not regarded as working days and there is no trading on these days.
