From 30 September 2024, we’re updating the benchmark and objective for the Aegon Schroder Global Cities Property Income fund. Nothing else about the fund will change because of this.

The changes in more detail

Benchmarks are used to measure a fund’s performance against similar types of investments, similar markets or regions.

The fund objective explains how the fund invests and what it’s trying to achieve for investors.

The underlying fund manager, Schroders, has changed the benchmark to better reflect the types of investments the fund holds. As a result of this, the fund’s objective was also updated.

To make sure our version of the fund matches the underlying fund, we’re updating it.

Details are shown in the table below with the changes highlighted in the new fund objective:

Old fund objective

New fund objective

The fund aims to provide income and capital growth in excess of inflation (as measured by UK Consumer Price Index) plus 3% per annum (after charges) over a 3 to 5-year period by investing in equities of real estate companies worldwide. This cannot be guaranteed and your capital is at risk. The fund may use derivatives with the aim reducing risk or managing the fund more efficiently. The Scottish Equitable fund has higher charges than the underlying Schroder fund and will, therefore, be less likely to meet this target.

The fund aims to provide income and capital growth in excess of the FTSE EPRA NAREIT Developed TR Index (after charges) over a 3 to 5-year period by investing in equities of real estate companies worldwide. The fund may use derivatives with the aim of reducing risk or managing the fund more efficiently.

There’s no guarantee the fund will meet its objectives. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed. Investors could get back less than they pay in.

We’ll update our literature and our website as soon as we can, but investors may notice the old and new information in use for a time.

You can find more information about this fund in the fund factsheet on the ‘Fund prices and performance' page on our website by selecting ‘Other fund ranges’ or ‘Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC)’.
