From 30 June 2021, we’re updating the fund objective for the Scottish Equitable M&G Property Portfolio.
Nothing else about the fund will change because of this. For example, the fund manager, charges and Aegon risk rating will remain the same.
The change in more detail
The underlying fund manager, M&G Investments, are updating the investment objective of the underlying fund, which they believe will make it easier for investors to determine if the fund has achieved its objective. To ensure consistency, we’re updating the fund objective for the Scottish Equitable version of the fund. Both the current and new objectives are listed in the table below:
Current fund objective | New fund objective (from 30 June 2021) |
---|---|
This fund aims to provide long-term total return (the combination of income and capital growth) over five years or more by investing at least 70% directly in UK commercial property. The fund may invest in other property-related assets, including other funds, real estate investment trusts, money market instruments and cash or assets that can be turned quickly into cash. The fund may invest via derivatives and use derivatives to reduce the risks and costs of managing the fund. | This fund aims to provide total return (the combination of income and capital growth) in excess of the IA (Investment Association) UK Direct Property Sector over any five-year period, by investing at least 70% of the portfolio directly in UK commercial property. The fund may invest in other property-related assets, including other funds, real estate investment trusts, money market instruments and cash or assets that can be turned quickly into cash. The fund may invest via derivatives and use derivatives to reduce the risks and costs of managing the fund. The Aegon fund has higher charges than the underlying M&G fund and will therefore be less likely to meet this target. |

There’s no guarantee the fund will meet its objectives. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed. You could get back less than you originally invested.
