From 30 September 2021, we’re updating the fund objective for the Scottish Equitable Stewart Investors Asia Pacific Leaders Sustainability fund.

Nothing else about the fund will change as a result of this; for example the fund manager, charge and Aegon risk rating will all remain the same.

The changes in more detail

The underlying fund manager of the Scottish Equitable Stewart Investors Asia Pacific Leaders Sustainability fund, (First Sentier Investors ICVC), has amended the objective of the underlying fund, which they believe better reflects the fund’s investment strategy. As a result, we’re updating our fund’s investment objective to ensure it remains consistent with the underlying fund. The changes are detailed in the table below:

Existing fund objective New fund objective

This fund aims to achieve capital growth over the long-term (at least five years) by investing in shares of medium to large sized companies (that generally have a total stock market value of at least $1 billion) in the Asia Pacific region (including Australasia but excluding Japan). The companies it invests in are either based in or have significant operations in this region and contribute to the sustainable development of the countries in which they operate. Although the fund’s investment policy excludes Japan, it may hold companies that are listed on the Japanese stock market that conduct a significant amount of business in the Asia Pacific region (excluding Japan). The fund may also use derivatives to reduce risk or to manage the fund more efficiently.

There’s no guarantee the fund will meet its objectives. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise and isn’t guaranteed. Investors could get back less than they have paid in.

Investors will start to notice the changes in our literature and on our website from 30 September 2021. The changes will be implemented gradually across our material, so you may notice both the old and new fund objectives in use for a time.

For more information on the fund you can view the fund factsheet via the ‘Fund prices and performance’ page and selecting ‘Other fund ranges’ or ‘Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC)’
