From 30 September 2021, the Aegon risk rating for the Aegon AM Strategic Bond fund is changing from ‘Above-average risk’ to ‘Below-average risk’.

It’s important to note that our risk ratings reflect the risk of a fund relative to the other funds currently available in our full fund range. The rating is not an industry standard, and it has no relevance or relationship to the fund risk ratings of other fund providers.

Nothing else about the fund will change as a result of this; for example, the fund’s aim and objective, fund manager and charges will remain the same.

These changes will be applied across our insured Pension, Life and Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC) fund ranges.

Why we’re changing the risk rating

We regularly review the risk ratings of all our insured funds to determine whether the actual risk of a fund has changed significantly, and whether its risk (relative to the other funds in our fund range) has changed. This means that the risk ratings we give our funds can change from time to time. You can find more about our Aegon risk ratings here.

Investors will start to notice the risk rating change in our literature and on our website from 30 September 2021 onwards. The change will be implemented gradually across our material, so investors may notice both the old and new risk rating in use for a time.

For more information, you can view the fund factsheets via the ‘Fund prices and performance’ page and viewing ‘Other fund ranges’ or ‘Aegon Retirement Choices (ARC)’.

What current investors need to do

Existing investors don’t need to do anything. Please speak to a financial adviser if you’re unsure about what this change means for you. If you don’t have a financial adviser you can find one in your area at moneyhelper.org.uk
