Activating your account

See how to activate your account. As a new user you'll receive an email from us asking you to activate your account, which will include an activation code. It's best to activate as soon as you receive the email as the activation code will expire.

Navigating your dashboard 

Take a look at what you can expect to see on your dashboard, where you can quickly access everything you need to do and search for your clients. The example isn't a real adviser. Your dashboard may vary depending on the permissions you have.

View the client and product summary

The client summary lets you see all the products your client holds with us, as well as showing the total value the client holds on the platform and the return since they took their first product out. You can access the product summary to see more details of your client’s products. 

We calculate the return using the money they've invested, the current value of the product(s) and before any deductions. The return percentage is that return value / money invested x 100.

[00:08] When you log into your account and land on your dashboard, you can either search for your client using 'Search' at the top of the page, or select 'View all clients' at the bottom of the top five client section.

[00:22] Once you find the client you're looking for, select them and you'll see the client summary. It shows the total value the client holds on platform and the return since they took their first product out. There are useful client details and you can select to view your client's account screen if you want to view their profile.

[00:44] You'll also see all the products your client holds. At the side, you have the option to continue any requests you've previously started, but not finished for this client, access to their online documents, view latest status updates, or buy a new product. And you can access information on our website about the investments we offer. If you want more details on any of the products your client holds, simply select the product you want to view. For this one, we'll look at an ISA product summary.

[01:26] You can see the ISA value and the return since they took the ISA out. You have the option to top up, change existing investments, also known as switch, or manage the investment strategy. Select 'More actions' to see what else you can access for the ISA. You can manage regular money out, download the form for a one off withdrawal, manage the income from their investments, and also carry out equity trading. All easily accessible from this section.

[02:02] At a glance, you can see what ISA allowance is remaining for the current tax year. If your client is paying money in regularly to their product or taking regular withdrawals, we'll show details of that here too. At the bottom, you have different tabs. You can see the investments the ISA is currently invested in and how much is in each, take a look at transaction history, access their online documents, and view ongoing charges. This is a quick view of client summary and product summary.

Setting up a new client, then quote and apply

Have a look at setting up a new client, then quoting and applying for a product.

[00:10] In this short video, we'll show you how easy it is to quote and apply for a new client. As we tailor your experience based on you and your client's circumstances, what you see may be different to what we show here. From your dashboard, select 'Add new client'.

[00:30] Before you get started, we'll tell you what you need to know. If you have access to both Aegon Retirement Choices and One Retirement, you'll select which one to buy the product on. Once you've read everything and made any selections, you can start. Select the client type and complete their personal details. With just these details, you'll create a new client. If you proceed to 'Apply', we'll need some more information. But you're now ready to start the quote.

[01:04] On 'Product selection', select the advice basis and choose all the products you want to quote for. Here we'll show you quoting for a SIPP and an ISA. First, you'll add all the details for the SIPP, and then we'll ask you the details for the ISA. You have the option to add a quote description if you want. Complete money in and out for the SIPP. Here you can add details of any single or regular contributions, as well as transfers in. On SIPP details we pre-populate the preferred retirement age, but you can change it, then complete the investment options for the SIPP.

[01:48] Here, we'll look at selecting investments. Search for the investments, either by investment name, SEDOL, ISIN or CitiCode and add them. Now enter how much to allocate to each investment. Select a rebalancing option and how to pay any income generated from applicable investments. You've now completed the SIPP details, so we'll show you a summary. You can return to completed sections and make changes or select 'Next' to move on to the ISA details. Just like the SIPP, we'll ask you to complete money in and out details. Again, you have the option of adding single or regular payments, and transfers in. And then you'll see investment options for the ISA.

[02:46] When quoting for more than one product, we give you the option to copy the same investments from a previous product in the same quote. But you can also select different investments or invest in a model portfolio. Again, you can allocate the percentage to each investment. Now you can set up the charges on both products. You can add an initial adviser charge. And we also give you the option to apply the same ongoing charges to all products in the same quote, or you can apply a different amount for each product. It's up to you and your client.

[03:33] The quote is now complete. You can see the documents such as the illustration and anything you need to send back to us. You can continue to apply or save and exit. If you select 'Save and exit', you can find the quote by selecting 'Manage quotes and applications' from your dashboard. If you continue to apply, we'll ask you some more information about your client and the products they are applying for. If applicable, you'll select a payment method and complete bank details, including where we should pay any income or withdrawals to.

[04:26] You're almost done. Just review and confirm the application details. If you need to, you can edit the information you've completed. Confirm the declarations and submit the request. We'll confirm we've received the application and give you the opportunity to download the documents again before returning to your dashboard. Topping up

View our top up video where you can make a single, or regular payment, or a transfer in to your clients’ products. 

[00:07] In this short video, you'll see how easy it is to top up a product. In this case, an ISA. We'll show you a customer carrying out this request, but the process is very similar for advisers. Select the product you want to top up.

[00:25] From the product summary, select 'Top up'. Read over what you need to know. Then you're ready to start. On 'Money in', tell us how you want to top up and enter the amount. You can select a single or regular payment or a transfer in. Now you're ready to select the investments. You can select new investments, and depending how it's currently invested, you may also have a choice of the existing investment strategy or a current model portfolio. Here we'll select new investments. Add the investments you want.

[01:10] Now enter how much to allocate to each investment. As you do this, we'll show you how much you have left to allocate. As 0.25% of the investment amount needs to be held in cash, we'll automatically add this. You can increase the amount but can't decrease it. We'll confirm when you've allocated 100%. Next, tell us some details about how money is being paid in.

[01:40] You're almost done. Review your request and download any documents you need. If something isn't quite right, you can edit it. Then just confirm the declaration and submit the request. We'll confirm we've received your request and give you details of expected timings. You can also download the documents again before returning to the product summary. Have a look at what your clients are seeing

[00:00:05] Once you've activated your account, you're ready to get started. Log in to your account and you'll land on your dashboard. Here, you can find everything you need, with all information in one place. The dashboard is tailored to you and depends on the permissions you have.

[00:00:24] Here, we'll look at a customer who can manage the products they hold. If you have a financial adviser, you might have 'view only' access, as they support you with your financial planning and manage products on your behalf. Here you can see the total value of all your products and the return since you invested with us, and whether that's up or down. If you have a financial advisor, you'll find the details here.

[00:00:57] You can easily see what products you have, including the product name, value, and product number. We'll come back to 'view and manage' shortly. At the side you have quick links to online documents, latest status updates and product and investment gating. You can also access information about the investments we offer.

[00:01:27] Let's go back to see how you can manage your self invested personal pension. If you select 'view and manage' you'll get a summary of the product and you're able to make changes if you want to. You can see the value return and the financial advisor's details linked to this product. You can choose to top up, change existing investments, manage investment strategy, or select more actions to manage investment income and for equity trading. If you're paying a regular amount, we'll show that here, and when it's next due. If you want to make a change to the regular amount you're paying, you have easy access to the form you need to complete and send to us.

[00:02:18] You can also find out more about your investments, transaction history, online documents, and any ongoing charges you're paying to your financial advisor if you have one. There are also useful links to our fund research area, generate a review illustration, update your preferred retirement age, and access our retirement planner tool. This is a quick overview of your dashboard and product summary. You can also select 'account' to view and update your details if you need to.

Setting up or amending drawdown

In this short video we’ll show you how you can set up or amend an existing drawdown.

[00.22] Find the client you want to carry out the request for. Then, from the client summary, select the pension product. You’re now on the client’s product summary page.

[00.35] From here, select the more actions icon and then drawdown. Before you start the application, you have some options to select from.

[00.46] If you choose a one-off crystallisation and to select specific investments, or drip-feed drawdown option, we’ll direct you to where you’ll complete the request. This will open in a new tab.

[01.00] In this example, we’re going to set up a one-off crystallisation and select investments proportionately.

[01.08] We’ll tell what you need to know. This includes what to expect, what you’ll need to complete  the application, any potential restrictions, how long it takes and important information. You can now start the application.

[01.25] First, if we know about any existing benefit crystallisation events or protection details, we’ll display them here. If we don’t have details, you can easily add them.

[01.38] To allow the quote to be as accurate as possible and determine how much of a pension commencement lump sum could be paid, we need to know if any lifetime allowance has been used through another pension scheme.

[01.53] You’re now ready to make your benefit selection. For this client, they don’t have an existing drawdown product, so we’ll create a new one. You can now select the crystallisation basis – this can be a full or partial amount of the current value. Or you can target a pension commencement lump sum.

[02.16] Here, we’ve selected to use the full amount. You can enter a pension commencement lump sum amount or set it to the maximum. If there are any existing benefits you need to consider, we’ll provide the details for you. You’ll get the option to select the taxable income amount, payment frequency and payment date.

[02.39] We’ll use any available cash to cover the pension commencement lump sum amount. If no cash is available, any balance will be taken proportionately from the remaining investments. We’ll ask you whether you want to reserve available cash or ensure cash is made available.

[02.57] We’ll confirm the date the value of investments is based on for this amount.

[03.02] As you continue, we’ll replay the information, you can make changes if you need to, and we generate the necessary documents so you can download them.

[03.12] At this point, if you’re not ready to continue, you can save and exit. You can find the quote by selecting ‘manage quotes and applications’ from your dashboard. But if you’re ready to continue, select Apply.

[03.28] Complete all bank details, here you can select an account or add a new one.

[03.35] Confirm your relationship with your client and the advice basis, and review the application details. You can also make any changes if you need to.

[03.49] Confirm you’ve read the declarations, and submit the request.

[03.59] We’ll confirm we’ve received the application and a product number for the request.

[04.05] We’ll confirm the timings/expectations, you can download the documents, including any you might need to send us, before returning to the product summary.
