Aegon UK is led by Mike Holliday-Williams, Chief Executive, and a team of well-respected industry figures with wide-ranging expertise and years of financial experience.

Mike started his career with WHSmith in 1991 as a graduate trainee, working as a Retail Manager in many UK stores and in Business Development. In 1997 he joined Centrica where he had several general management and marketing roles in British Gas, before becoming the Residential & Marketing Director of Centrica Telecoms/One.Tel in 2004.
In 2006 Mike joined RSA, becoming the UK Managing Director of Personal Lines in 2008, responsible for MORETH>N, Partnerships and the Broker businesses. In 2011 he moved to Copenhagen to become the CEO of RSA Group’s Scandinavian businesses, Codan A/S and Trygg-Hansa, he also became a member of the RSA Group Executive. In 2014, he moved to Direct Line Group to become Managing Director of the Personal Lines business, joining the Board of DLG in 2017.
Mike joined Aegon UK in October 2019, to take over as CEO of Scottish Equitable Plc, Cofunds Ltd, and Aegon UK Plc.
Stephen was appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in October 2016, a role he'd held on an interim basis from August of that year.
Prior to becoming CFO, Stephen was a key part of the finance leadership team, including as Finance Director for Existing Business as well as leading a strategic review of the business in his time as Commercial Programme Director. Stephen joined Aegon UK in 2014 from Lloyds Banking Group where he was Chief Actuary.
Stephen has been in the insurance industry since graduating from university in 1994 - spending most of his time prior to Lloyds in senior finance and actuarial roles at Phoenix Life Group.
Jim joined Aegon UK in 2011 as Chief Actuary and became Chief Risk Officer in 2014. Prior to this he was Solvency II Director at Lloyds Banking Group for two years. Jim has been in the insurance industry since training as an actuary at Scottish Widows in 1992. Jim was also Chair of the Board of Stevenson College, Edinburgh for a number of years.
Andy is responsible for the development and marketing of propositions across workplace, retail and protection channels. Andy has over 25 years of experience in the industry across a range of marketing, operations and distribution roles. He joined Aegon from KPMG in 2016 where he was a management consultant working with insurers, advisers and asset managers to drive strategic change. Prior to this, Andy held a number of senior roles at Standard Life.
Nick joined us from KPMG in January 2019 where he was a partner and most recently responsible for delivering a number of change and transformation programmes for a wide range of wealth and asset management companies.
Before that he was Head of Technology at Fidelity Investment Management and led the UK business transformation programme and strategic redesign of their new target technical and operational architectures.
Throughout his career, Nick has demonstrated a great passion for innovation and disruption, designing and building market leading customer experiences and leading global teams.
Alison joined Aegon UK in June 2019 as Chief Internal Auditor and she also leads the Aegon UK internal audit team, our third line of defence, according to the Aegon UK Internal Audit Charter.
Alison is a qualified actuary with over 25 years experience in the insurance industry, including over 19 years with Lloyds Banking Group where roles included internal audit, risk oversight, proposition development, customer retention and commercial management.
Gill leads our HR function, working in partnership with the business to deliver an organisation-wide approach to people management, talent retention and development, employee engagement and performance, contributing to the sustainability and profitability of the organisation through the appropriate resourcing and the development and reward of our people.
Prior to joining Aegon UK, she went from university into roles in Retail, including a very interesting year in Harrods, London, which ignited her passion for serving the customer through excellent people.
James Mackenzie, General Counsel and Company Secretary(Expand content) (Minimise content) (Content loading)
James is General Counsel and Company Secretary of Aegon UK. As part of his role James leads the UK Legal and Company Secretariat department. James joined Aegon in 2009, having previously worked in Shepherd and Wedderburn’s corporate finance team.
Dougy’s career began with Aegon UK in 1998 and, since qualifying as an actuary in 2001, has held leadership roles in finance, marketing, sales and general management, including a short spell with Aegon in the USA. Dougy had a break from Aegon taking on a role as an associate director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, before returning to Aegon UK in 2011 as Head of Finance Transformation.
In 2012, he became Retail Strategy Director, before taking up the role of Protection Director in 2014. As Protection Director his key target was to increase new business volumes over two years. Now, Managing Director of Existing Business, Dougy is responsible for driving improved outcomes for our 1.4 million Existing Business customers, and for driving shareholder value. Dougy has been in his role since June 2016. He is also CEO of Stonebridge International Insurance Limited having taking this additional role in June 2019.
Ronnie joined Aegon in May 2018 as Chief Distribution Officer. He is an experienced business leader in distribution and business development with a strong track record in UK financial services. He is responsible for leading Aegon's growth across both workplace and wealth channels. Having worked in a variety of senior roles across the pensions industry, Ronnie has a wealth of experience of, and insight into, the pensions industry. Previous roles include Distribution Director at Scottish Widows, Vebnet CEO and Managing Director of the Standard Life Wrap business.
David joined Aegon in 2008 having previously had a wide range of financial services experience with Scottish Mutual, Abbey National, HBOS and Barclays Wealth, with roles in Customer Services, Change and IT functions along the way. This included Head of Pensions for Abbey National's retail bank and IFA channels and a Head of IT role within HBOS Group Services.
In Aegon, David has successfully taken on a number of senior roles including Programme Director for the Legacy Programme, Customer Service Director, Managing Director for the Direct business, Commercial Director for Customer Upgrade and Nationwide Integration. Building on all of that experience, David is now Transformation Director for Aegon UK, responsible for all of the Change programmes and projects across the UK business, both in the transformation portfolio and all of the business as usual portfolio priorities.
