How do I cancel my protection policy?
For protection policies only04 October 2019
You or your adviser can cancel a single-life policy (in other words, a policy covering a single insured person), by phoning us on 03456 00 14 02.
If you have a joint-life policy (in other words, a policy covering two people), you or your adviser can phone us to cancel it if the benefit amount is £249,999 or less. If the total benefit amount of all your joint-life protection policies with us is £250,000 or more, you’ll need to write to us at Aegon, Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh, EH12 9SE to cancel your policy(ies). Both insured people will need to sign the letter. Alternatively, your adviser can cancel your policy(ies) on your behalf by phoning us.
If you’re separating or divorcing, you or your adviser will need to write to us to cancel your policy(ies) regardless of the benefit amount, and both insured people will need to sign the letter.
If the policy is owned by a company, its adviser can phone us to cancel the policy(ies) on the company's behalf. Alternatively, the company or its adviser, can write to us on company-headed paper. A company official, other than the insured person, such as a company director, company secretary or finance director, will need to sign this letter.
Before cancelling your policy, we recommend that you speak to your adviser.
