Update to the Aegon Merian Global Emerging Markets (AOR) fund objective

Fund_Update.jpg

From 31 March 2021, we’re updating the fund objective for the Aegon Merian Global Emerging Markets (AOR) fund.

Nothing else about the fund will change because of this. For example, the fund manager, charges and Aegon risk rating will remain the same.

The change in more detail

The underlying fund manager, Merian Global Investors (Europe) Limited, have updated the investment approach for the Merian Global Emerging Markets fund. As a result, we’re updating the fund objective for the Aegon version of the fund to ensure it remains consistent with the underlying fund.

Old fund objective New fund objective
The fund aims to provide long-term capital growth by investing in a broad mix of emerging markets equities (shares) of companies either operating within emerging countries or countries that have a predominant proportion of their assets or business operations in emerging markets. It doesn’t concentrate investments in any one industry or sector. The fund is actively managed and aims to outperform the MSCI Emerging Markets TR Index over rolling three-year periods (after charges). It does so by investing in a broad mix of emerging markets equities (shares) of companies either operating within emerging countries or countries that have a predominant proportion of their assets or business operations in emerging markets. It doesn’t concentrate investments in any one industry or sector. The Aegon version of this fund has higher charges than the underlying fund and will therefore be less likely to meet its objective.

There’s no guarantee the fund will meet its objectives. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed. You could get back less than you originally invested.

What this means for investors

Investors may notice this change in our literature and on our website from 31 March 2021. The change will be implemented gradually across our material, so you may notice both the old and new information in use for a time.
