Supporting the best of British talent

The Lawn Tennis Association's (LTA) long-term vision is 'winning', meaning British tennis players succeeding at the highest level. As the Lead Partner of British Tennis, we’re investing at all levels of the game to help British talent reach its full potential.

Developing talented players from a young age is clearly essential to creating future winners, and supporting the LTA's elite performance programme is an important element of our British Tennis sponsorship.

Supporting the top players

The level of funding and support players get is determined by their age and ranking, and is reviewed every year. The elite players are supported through two different programmes:

Team AEGON

Team AEGON are the top LTA-funded players. There are currently 43 Team AEGON players, all aged between 13 and 27. Most are based at the National Tennis Centre at Roehampton, with the others either based at regional High Performance Centres or working with coaches abroad.

Team AEGON players get funding for coaching and travel as well as dedicated support from the LTA's team of specialists, which includes psychologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, fitness coaches and medics.

AEGON FutureStars

AEGON FutureStars is made up of the next best British players after Team AEGON. At the moment there are over 400 AEGON FutureStars, most of them aged 9 to 16. They also get funding and support from the LTA, as part of a programme to develop the UK's most promising young tennis stars as they build their careers and look to progress to Team AEGON.

We’re confident that these talented young players will continue to make their mark both here and abroad – and we’ll be supporting them every step of the way.
