Research
Uncharted territory: spending assets in retirementDuring 2009, we commissioned the Office for Public Management (OPM) to research how consumers frame the decisions they need to take at and in retirement about spending their assets. The research looked at:
- how they plan to access or unlock the assets they’ve built up over their working life, and how they feel about the options available to them
- how people think and plan for their retirement years, particularly financially
- how people can be better supported, informed and equipped to plan for a retirement that suits their future needs and aspirations
Full report
OPM produced a full report of the research and their findings.
Video
As part of the research, three of the participants spent time with a video ethnographer looking at their own experiences in detail. Manches Research has made their stories into a short video to accompany the report. View the video here.
