Brief Description of the Department:

The role of the box management function is to carry out the box management process with the aim of minimising shareholder risk. This includes making any risks visible via delivery of robust reporting and maximising data quality and delivery of information by active review, ownership and effective controls of the data.

The department manages and reports on EFL operational issues, is responsible for the execution of investment trades within the external fund links, co-ordinates and executes new fund launches and maintains find information across all business platforms.

In addition, the department conducts price error analysis and resolution in compliance with Board and Regulatory requirements and monitors fund price performance against agreed benchmarks.

Responsibilities:

This role manages and co-ordinates the fund launch process and associated changes or closures, interacting with the appropriate business areas to ensure all operational aspects of the process are identified and any associated risks are highlighted, proposing solutions, where appropriate. A significant element of this role is the production of project plans, specifically in relation to Fund launches and changes, as well as the set up and ongoing maintenance of the funds and monitoring SLA’s.

Responsibilities include:

  • produce, implement and deliver project plans following the standard project methodology and plan ahead to ensure that deadlines are met
  • regularly communicate progress against project plans to the section manager and key stakeholders
  • liaise with managers within box and with external department customers to identify areas of the business likely to be affected by any proposed changes, ensuring any constraints are considered in the planning process
  • place deals promptly, managing cash positions within agreed parameters and validating trade prices, ensuring systems for deals are placed and confirmations are received and updated
  • maintain fund structures, enduring fund rebalancing is carried out correctly and on time
  • set up new funds, ensuring consistency across all platforms
  • ensure AMC rates are correct and show accurately on static data
  • add new fund details, update any changes required and monitor control of access rights and co-ordination of the closure of funds
  • provide support and advice to Investment Marketing on fund developments and changes and liaise with Citigroup regarding EFL trading, settlement and cash reconciliations
  • actively review data quality, identify and recommend improvements and consider how efficiencies within the fund launch process
  • maintain EFL information, specifically contact details and dealing procedures

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills
  • Good Microsoft excel, word and project skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Experience in a project management role
  • Experience of dealing within an EFL environment – in particular with fund launches and closures

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Good understanding of the AEGON UK Business
  • Understanding of internal systems (Heritage, Unisure etc.)
